On August 28, 2009, Absinthe films unveiled their latest creation titled Neverland in front of a packed house at Salt Lake City’s Tower theater. Hundreds of hungry people lined up, patiently anticipated the newest vision from the minds of Justin Hostynek and crew, and boy was it worth the wait.
Right off the bat, Nicolas Müller shows us that we are in for not just any snowboard film, but one that is going to be filled with some next level boarding. From Nicolas to Eero Ettala to Romain to DCP, and the noboarding and snowboarding of Wolle Nyvelt, the action never stopped.
One thing I was especially hyped on was that Absinthe showed women snowboarding at the level that it should be shown at. Annie Boulanger and Marie-France Roy demonstrate some of the best womens’ snowboarding that has ever been captured on film. In the same fashion Bode Merrill also proved to the world that he is no longer to be slept on, he is a definite main stay in the snowboard world. His part is sure to blow your mind with some of the most amazing all around snowboarding that I have ever seen.
All in all I would have to say that Neverland is for sure one of the most progressive snowboard films ever to come out. I would make sure you get a copy, and if possible to hit up one of the showings on their tour if they come through your town.
