Forum and Standard films really stuck it to the dwindling economy Friday night in San Diego. In the face of other company’s cutbacks, these guys premiered their films together at the swank and supersized Balboa Theatre, a venue built for Broadway shows rather than snowboard flicks.
Forum Forever showed first, and had the 800 attendees cheering right away as Pat Moore opened the video with his usual hard-core musical accompaniment with The Sword. The youngbloods, also keeping with Forum movie trends, were all pretty standout too, Cam Pierce and Niko Cioffi especially. Only one season after their last movie, Peter Line, Joni Malmi and Jake Blauvelt kept the crowds talking them up over free beers during the break.
Standard’s Black Winter capped off the night, and did so in style. Torstein Horgmo opened with a part for the ages and had possibly the longest line of tricks ever filmed. Mark Landvik killed it in the backcountry and made us wonder why all his parts aren’t filmed exclusively with a helmet cam. Seb Toots, Andrew Geeves, and Halldor Helgason expanded the scope of jibbing past rails with wallrides and rooftops galore before Lonnie Kauk’s mind-blowing ender. This well-rounded film is truly shelf-worthy, especially if you want to learn double corks by watching the best.

Olympic Valley Lodge was popping off with at least a few hundred people in attendance for the premiere of Standard’s Black Winter. Chas Guldemond was the MC for the event that saw the youngest stoked out groms mixing with the Old schoolers like Jim Zellers and Jeremy Jones.

Once the Winter X Games 14 Slopestyle Event came to a close, The Winter X Games 14 were over. Eero Ettala took the gold and rookie Eric Willet snagged second and one Charles Guldemond deserved third.
While Eero Ettala traveled to Sapporo, Nicolas Müller stays after in the woods of Hokkaido. And takes “getting lost” to the next level.

With the best female halfpipe riders in the world on tap in Aspen, all eyes are on Buttermilk to see who will take down snowboarding’s original Olympics. Also going down was the Big Air which returned to Aspen with a new format, new riders, and new excitement.

Aspen is in full swing as of tonight. The Winter X Games 14 Halfpipe was the place to be this evening as Shaun White, Louie Vito, Kazu, Ipod, Greg Bretz, Lago, Aono, Steve Fisher, JJ Thomas and others went at it under the lights.
Men and Women’s Superpipe eliminations went down yesterday and the photos are in.

what the fuck? denco and word? being corked doesn'treally mean you have to go inverted, just off axis. to me, it looks much cooler the way tyler and sage do them compared to a double backflip 180..
