Up For Grabs: Win Jesse Burtner’s Snowboard Gear

In my honest opinion, Jesse Burtner is one of the most influential snowboarders alive. In fact, Jesse’s lucky to even be alive. After a head injury that almost permanently sidelined Burtner from snowboarding (among other things), the Alaska native came back stronger than ever, and his influence (as well as his skill) continues to grow. Rather than fade away from the limelight after a tragic turn of events, Burtner donned a dome protector and got right back on the horse, then created Think Thank productions shortly thereafter. Little did Burtner know that the films he would produce in the following years would redirect modernday boardin’ flicks, focusing more on attainable, progressive, and fun shredding rather than slow-motion seven-angle dolly shots––and kids loved them. Burtner’s brainchild further solidified his legend as a snowboarder and a filmmaker, and this praise is only the tip of the iceberg in regard to his tenure in the snowboard world. This is simply a testament to Jesse’s personality, talent, humor, ambition, and creativity. So, thanks, Jesse’s brain!

Lib Tech Burtner's Box Scratcher BTX

Lib Tech Burtner’s Box Scratcher BTX
M.S.R.P.: $459.00

“I always rode the small Box Scratcher for rails but then jibbing started taking me into more variety of terrain where I needed more board. This board is a bit longer and wider. It’s small enough to get super tricky on rails but still supports on the all mountain jibbing I love to do, I even hit some powder jumps and it worked great! ”

Airblaster Board Short

“These pants zip off in to shorts, ruling for hot hikes or impromptu sun burn sessions. I find myself riding in inclement weather a ton and I can vouch they work good as pants too. I like the cut as well, not tight not baggy, just pants for boarding. ”

Smith I/O

Smith I/O
M.S.R.P.: $180.00

“These goggles are good, they don’t fog on me and the lens is easy to change. The best thing about them though is that they have no frame on the bottom so when you see someone wearing them you can say, “Hey, your lens is falling out,” and they always look. Except me, I’m hip to the game, so don’t try it.”

M.S.R.P.: $99.95

“I rode this helmet all year, I think it’s the lightest and smallest helmet I’ve had. I like that it has the openings up top for breathability. I hit my head on a big steel bolt and it saved my life. Stoked on that!”

Jesse Burtner and think thank are my two favorite things about snowboarding
I own every think thank vid from patchwork patterns to the new realease cool story. Jessey is easily my biggest inspiration as a snowboarder as a Filmer and as that-guy-who-wares-hi-helmet-whenever-we-hit-a-street-rail” If I won this I would be stoked. I usually dont care much about these contests. Not because I have nice shit but because I feel there is someone who needs it more than me.

I hope whoever wins this knows there getting HOOKED UP!

  8. Elijah Kim on November 5, 2009 at 1:01 am

I remember watching Patchwork Patterns and my mind was just blown away by your part. Never imagined have the things you could do with the shred stick. My favorite rider hands down. Are those stomp pads all over your deck? Is that the secret to your insane skills?

  9. Skiier on November 5, 2009 at 5:47 pm

The kid looks like an idiot. Since when is ugly colors mismatched and oversized so you look like a shrunken kid in their dads clothing cool?

  10. Cort22 on November 5, 2009 at 5:58 pm

As a boarder or film maker he still lives his life to the fullest and truly has inspired me and probably many others into a life of just living life

  11. Greg on November 5, 2009 at 7:27 pm

This guy just kills it on rails. and i followed in his footsteps and got myself a helmet this year so i can try stuff knowing the little knowledge i have is kept save…. hopefully

  12. "parCKrew" on November 6, 2009 at 1:11 pm

well it would be cool to win someting from one of these contests befor the season is half way through. i think its great a kid that rides snowqualme stevens and alpental is getting some recognition. when i lived in that neck of the woods i had alot of fun at those resorts but more fun hikin off the 90 and the 2.

Jesse Burtner’s style, attitude, and personality are always present in his riding. Just watching any of his video parts you feel like this guy is your bro. It’s like you could run into him on the mountain and even tho he has no idea who you are he’d just be pumped you were riding and having fun. You watch alot of his THink THank parts and I swear he’s got the biggest grin on his face in every shot. He’s just stoked to be riding.

I watch his sets and it reminds me of everything I love about riding. instead of thinking about how I can’t find 6 feet of fresh to drop triple corks into, and stressin’ that I’m not as “good” as I “Should” be, his riding inspires me to do it because I love it and it’s fun. Regardless of whether or not I ever land a corked out 9 or 10, my riding will reflect who I am and what I love.

Hands down, Jesse Burtner is my favorite rider of all time.

FUCK YA! Think Thank, Jesse Burtner! Amazing there is no sob story saying I am to poor to buy my own gear because obviously none of those are true when snowboarding is purely an expensive sport in general, no money no riding. I just reaaallly want this supa hyphy gear so I look crazy awesome on the hill catchin everyones eye and stuff. so ya this gear is SICK and I rreallly wanna win it :D

  16. Ian on November 19, 2009 at 7:34 pm

This stuff is sick. Right now I have a K2 Viper which is a nice board. The only problem is that it’s an all mountain board and I love park. Probably the best board for park is the Box Scratcher….It would be so sick to win that board.

  17. parCKrew on November 24, 2009 at 1:08 pm

i was chekin out some opening day footage of baker and who did i see? jesse and he wasn’t hard to pick out being he definetly has his own unique style. good hustle and way to hold it down homeboy!!!

I am not to good at rhyming
In English I get straight C’s
But here be a poem (sorta)
that is better the cheddar cheese!

It came to the point where every
    street rail was uncharted territory
    every slope a new run,
Its no longer a sport, its an obsession
    a drug…
    a way of life…
Its all I can think of, the only
thing I want to talk about.
Just the mention of the word
    “SNOW”
    And I become antsy…
    an adrenaline rush!
Frozen fingers, Raccoon Tans, Wind Burns
    Powder Runs and Sketchy Landings
    Late Nights, Early Mornings
It has become the only thing
    That makes me truly happy
the only thing that makes me
    smile :)

This is to Hopping It Never Ends…

May I present you an A

    Thank You So Much,
    -Julia

Lib Tech, think thank, bent mental binders! I got an old a$$ pair of bent metals all aluminum, with different color everything and low backs that are bright orange with pink palm trees. So classic. They are currently mounted on my girlfriends old and broken Jamie Lynn pro modle board hanging on the wall.

Jesse Burtner is the steeziest man alive, and has the coolest style in snowboarding not only because he rides for airblaster but his personality is just cool as shizzle. He’s best in the buisnas!
