RIP Tom Petty, 1950 – 2017

It is with a heavy heart that after we heard the news of Tom Petty‘s passing last night, so we dug through old videos to share some parts and enjoy his music the way we have for so many years, through snowboarding. We cannot confirm or deny if he ever stepped on a snowboard, but we can sure as hell say Tom Petty & The Hearbreakers have influenced our culture for the better part of his 40+ year career. From legendary parts like Danny Kass’ Night of the Living Shred to recent videos like the edit above to other past projects below, Petty has been in the ear of many a rider as they dropped, jibbed, carved, and jumped down mountains of all shapes and sizes.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Tom Petty, and we would just like to thank him for all the music over the years.

“On behalf of the Tom Petty family we are devastated to announce the untimely death of of our father, husband, brother, leader and friend Tom Petty. He suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Malibu in the early hours of this morning and was taken to UCLA Medical Center but could not be revived. He died peacefully at 8:40pm PT surrounded by family, his bandmates and friends.”
