It’s official. Seattle-based Union Binding Company has officially made the best snowboard video of 2016/2017, and if you’ve seen Stronger, you are shaking your head in agreement. Partnering with Red Bull Media House and employing the famed Pirates filming crew complimented their roster of riders perfectly to create a visual masterpiece filled with no fillers and all hammers and shot entirely with RED cameras in 4K. Salt Lake City street slayer Jeremy Jones has watched many a film in his days, and his testament to Stronger couldn’t be…ahem…stronger. He says, “Great filming, good soundtrack, the edit was tight and a hammer roster. I enjoyed it start to finish. Hard to come by a film like that these days for me,” while 2014 Sochi Olympic gold medalist in slopestyle and silver screen star himself Sage Kotsenburg quipped, “The lineup alone says a lot and everyone seemed to have their best year filming for this movie! Hats off to everyone who made this, it was amazing.” With standout parts by Kazu Kokubo, Johnny O’Connor, Scott Stevens, Travis Rice and Torstein Horgmo who annihilate everything in their path, the film is truly anchored by the remainder of the field and it’s widely greed upon that even a third or sixth part in Stronger could be an ender in another movie. Maybe the legendary former pro snowboarder turned acclaimed filmmaker Lukas Huffman summed it up best when he stated, “It's an instant classic; solid camera work, good soundtrack, simple editing that lets the riding shine...and the best snowboarding parts of the year all back-to-back for us to enjoy. This video felt like an older film, when snowboard videos were about sharing the progression of riding that went down that year. It’s a document of what the riders did, and they broke a lot of barriers.” Broke a lot of barriers is right, Lukas. The film is titled Stronger, after all. Congrats to Union, the Pirates and all the riders involved in the making of this movie. It surely was one for the ages.
